UHDA is developing a public park in Upper Hill as a shared urban space for the Nairobi community.
Scope of work
Zen Carbon produced and supplied low-carbon cabro pavers for the park's walkways and public-use areas.
Materials and technology
Concrete pavers made with CO₂ mineralization and a reduced-cement mix, designed for durable outdoor use.
Project outcome
The park received a hard-wearing, lower-carbon surface while demonstrating carbon removal in everyday infrastructure.
Environmental and social impact
The project connects climate action with a visible community asset and helps make low-carbon construction tangible to park users.

The team integrated carbon injection into a live ready-mix production workflow and monitored the resulting batches.

A ready-mix concrete design using direct-mixer CO₂ injection, closed-loop dosing and per-batch telemetry.
Project outcome
CO₂ mineralized in concrete batch after batch with no disruptive change to the plant's normal operating process.

The deployment demonstrates a practical route to lower-carbon concrete through existing local infrastructure and skills.
